Of course I really wanted to start taking photos of insects, revealing that strange and hidden world, but I could never quite capture them in focus (or in frame). Then one day I saw a dead fly on the windowsill and I thought to myself, here is a little bug that can’t escape my lens!

Looking back through 2023 I’ve picked out what I feel are the best shots from my initial foray into macro photography. Only 6 of the 60+ photos (not many I know) made the cut and while I did have some abstract and insect shots in there, I’m not good enough to share those just yet.
